How do I digitize my receipts?
Photograph the receipt, upload a PDF or forward it by email to Paperarchive. The text recognition reads amount, date and merchant, then files the receipt and makes it searchable.
Is digitizing receipts GoBD-compliant?
It can be, if the whole process fits. The GoBD require, among other things, that receipts cannot be changed during the retention period, that changes stay traceable and that your process is documented. The GoBD mode in Paperarchive covers the archive: archived receipts and their amounts are locked, retention periods are set automatically, every change is recorded in a change log with a hash chain, files are checked against their hash every month, and for a tax audit there is auditor access and a GDPdU export. Can I throw away paper receipts after scanning?
In many cases yes, if you scan them under a documented process (replacement scanning), check every scan for completeness and legibility, and keep the digital copy unchanged for the retention period. Paperarchive does not check the image quality for you. Some exceptions apply, for example certain customs documents and notarized papers. Ask your tax advisor if you are unsure.
Do I need a scanner?
No. A photo from your phone is enough. Paperarchive handles photos, PDFs and forwarded email receipts the same way.
